1. Narration Definition and Types

সংজ্ঞা: কোনো বাক্য বা কথোপকথনকে অন্য কোনো ব্যক্তির কাছে পুনরায় বর্ণনা করার প্রক্রিয়াকে Narration বা Reported Speech বলা হয়।

প্রকারভেদ:

• Direct Speech (প্রত্যক্ষ বাক্য)
• Indirect Speech (পরোক্ষ বা প্রতিবেদনমূলক বাক্য)

2. Direct Speech (প্রত্যক্ষ বাক্য)

যখন আমরা কারো কথাকে ঠিক যেমনটি বলা হয়েছে, উদ্ধৃতি চিহ্নের মধ্যে পুনরায় বলি, তাকে Direct Speech বলা হয়।

উদাহরণ:

• সে বলল, "আমি আজ স্কুলে যাচ্ছি।"
• মা বলল, "তুমি তোমার কামরাটি পরিষ্কার করো।"

3. Indirect Speech (পরোক্ষ বাক্য)

যখন আমরা কারো কথাকে নিজের শব্দে বা পরিবর্তিত কাঠামোয় বলি, তাকে Indirect Speech বলা হয়।

উদাহরণ:

• সে বলল যে সে আজ স্কুলে যাচ্ছে।
• মা বলল যে আমি আমার কামরাটি পরিষ্কার করব।

4. Reporting to Reported Speech রূপান্তর

Reporting Speech (প্রত্যক্ষ বাক্য) থেকে Reported Speech (পরোক্ষ বাক্য) এ রূপান্তর করার নিয়ম:

5. Reported to Reporting Speech রূপান্তর

Reported Speech থেকে Direct বা Reporting Speech এ রূপান্তর করার নিয়ম:

• Pronouns কে পুনরায় মূল ব্যক্তিগত রূপে ফিরিয়ে আনতে হবে
• Verb tense কে মূল বাক্য অনুযায়ী পুনঃস্থাপন করতে হবে
• Time এবং Place এর শব্দ পুনরায় যথাযথ করতে হবে

উদাহরণ:

• Indirect: সে বলল যে সে খেলতে যাচ্ছে।
• Direct: সে বলল, "আমি খেলতে যাচ্ছি।"

6. Passage Narration (প্যাসেজ রূপান্তর)

একটি দীর্ঘ Passage বা প্যাসেজকে Reported Speech এ রূপান্তর করার নিয়ম:

• প্রত্যেকটি বাক্যকে যথাযথভাবে Indirect Speech এ পরিবর্তন করতে হবে
• Pronouns, Tense, Time এবং Place অনুযায়ী সমন্বয় করতে হবে
• প্রয়োজনে সংক্ষিপ্ত ও সংযুক্ত বাক্য ব্যবহার করা যায়

উদাহরণ:

Original Passage:

"আমি সকালে বাজারে গিয়েছিলাম। আমি অনেক ফল কিনেছিলাম। তারপর আমি স্কুলে গিয়েছিলাম।"

Reported Speech:

সে বলল যে সে সকালে বাজারে গিয়েছিল এবং অনেক ফল কিনেছিল। তারপর সে স্কুলে গিয়েছিল।

4. Rules for Converting Direct to Indirect Speech

1. Pronouns পরিবর্তন: I → he/she, we → they, you → he/she/they ইত্যাদি।
2. Verb Tense পরিবর্তন:
   • Present Simple → Past Simple
   • Present Continuous → Past Continuous
   • Present Perfect → Past Perfect
   • Past Simple → Past Perfect
3. Time Expressions পরিবর্তন: today → that day, tomorrow → the next day, yesterday → the day before, now → then
4. Place Expressions পরিবর্তন: here → there, this → that, these → those
5. Modals পরিবর্তন: shall → would, will → would, can → could, may → might
6. Questions পরিবর্তন:
   • Yes/No Questions → if / whether + clause
   • Wh-Questions → Wh- word + subject + verb
7. Commands/Requests/Advice: told, ordered, requested + to + verb ব্যবহার করা হয়
8. Exclamations: what/how দিয়ে শুরু করা যায় এবং exclaimed ব্যবহার করা হয়

5. Rules for Converting Indirect to Direct Speech

1. Pronouns → মূল ব্যক্তিগত রূপে ফেরত আনা
2. Verb Tense → মূল বাক্য অনুযায়ী ফিরিয়ে আনা
3. Time / Place → আসল নির্দেশ অনুসারে পরিবর্তন
4. Questions / Commands / Exclamations → যথাযথ প্রশ্নচিহ্ন বা নির্দেশ ব্যবহার

• Indirect: He said that he was reading a book.
• Direct: He said, "I am reading a book."

6. Passage Narration Rules

• প্রত্যেকটি বাক্যকে Indirect Speech এ রূপান্তর করুন।
• Pronouns, Tense, Time এবং Place অনুযায়ী সমন্বয় করুন।
• সংক্ষিপ্ত বাক্য ব্যবহার করা যেতে পারে।
• মৌলিক অর্থ পরিবর্তন করা যাবে না।

Original Passage: "আমি সকালে বাজারে গিয়েছিলাম। আমি অনেক ফল কিনেছিলাম। তারপর আমি স্কুলে গিয়েছিলাম।"

Reported Speech: সে বলল যে সে সকালে বাজারে গিয়েছিল এবং অনেক ফল কিনেছিল। তারপর সে স্কুলে গিয়েছিল।

7. Commands / Requests / Advice রূপান্তর

Commands, Requests এবং Advice রূপান্তর করার নিয়ম:

• Command: told / ordered + object + to + verb
• Request: requested / asked + object + to + verb
• Advice: advised / warned + object + to + verb

8. Exclamations রূপান্তর

Exclamatory sentences-কে Indirect Speech-এ রূপান্তর করার নিয়ম:

• Exclaimed / exclaimed with joy / exclaimed with surprise ব্যবহার করা হয়।
• “What / How” দিয়ে শুরু হওয়া বাক্য Indirect-এ যথাযথ রূপে প্রকাশ করতে হবে।

উদাহরণ

• Direct: He said, "What a beautiful day!"
• Indirect: He exclaimed that it was a beautiful day.
• Direct: She said, "How clever you are!"
• Indirect: She exclaimed how clever I was.

9. Question Sentences রূপান্তর

Question রূপান্তরের নিয়ম:

• Yes/No Questions → if / whether + clause
• Wh-Questions → Wh-word + subject + verb

10. Key Notes (চাবি বিষয়সমূহ)

• Direct → Indirect Speech রূপান্তরে tense shift সবসময় প্রয়োজন হয় না যদি reporting verb present tense থাকে।
• Indirect → Direct Speech রূপান্তরে মূল বাক্য অনুযায়ী tense, pronoun এবং time change করতে হবে।
• Commands, Requests, Advice, Exclamations, Questions আলাদা নিয়ম অনুসরণ করে।
• Passage narration-এ সব বাক্যকে সংযুক্ত করে Reported Speech তৈরি করা হয়।

11. Common Exceptions / Tips

• Reporting verb যদি present tense হয়, verb tense পরিবর্তন প্রয়োজন হয় না।
• General truths, universal facts এবং proverbs tense পরিবর্তন ছাড়া বলা যায়।
• Direct speech-এ যদি multiple sentences থাকে, তাদের সংযুক্ত করে Indirect speech বানানো যায়।
• Pronoun পরিবর্তন করতে ভুলবেন না, বিশেষ করে I, we, you।
• Questions এবং Commands-এ punctuation এবং word order ঠিক রাখতে হবে।

2. Pronouns ঠিক করুন (I → he/she, we → they)।
3. Verb tense পরিবর্তন করুন reporting verb অনুযায়ী।
4. Time এবং place expression পরিবর্তন করুন।
